I'm such a book junkie. I have five books I'm currently reading and I just can't quit.

Hmm. I guess the best way for you to know me is to know that I am an I/SD.
That should tell you just about everything you need to know for now.

Also, I'm in the military. Navy type, until August 23rd, when I will be getting out to attend seminary.

I am in the process of contacting various churches around America, finding out where I might end up while I go to school. It's in God's hands, which is a relief to me. Now I don't have to worry about it.

I would say that I will blog here weekly, but got some good insights into my own personality from John Combs. Realistically, if I get a secretary who is a "C" or "C/S", I will have them post for me. Until then, you'll have to forgive my sporadic posts.

God bless y'all, and I look forward to learning from your posts on this site.

Just a note on cognitive dissonance...

Guy Harris introduced me to cognitive dissonance and I knew that I had to buy the book he recommended entitled Mistakes Were Made (but not by me). I read a section on page 19 that reads as follows, "Neuroscientists have recently shown that these [cognitive] biases in thinking are built into the very way the brain processes information - all brains, regardless of their owners' political affiliation. For example, in a study of people who were being monitored by mangetic resonance imagin (MR… Continue

Self Delusion and Empty Tanks

In Advanced Training we learned that in order to have good and healthy relationships with those around us, we need to be able to take responsibility for our relationships. The recommendation was that we learn three simple phrases.

1. I'm sorry.
2. I'm sorry I misunderstood.
3. I'm sorry I did not make myself clear.

All three of the phrases accepts responsibility. The reason we must be able to say this is because we cannot continue healthy relationships while shifting all responsibility to the… Continue

Great page Derek! LOVE the photos. When is the next time you are in Atlanta? If our schedules can coordinate, we'll have to connect for lunch again. Take care.

Hi Derek -- thanks for remembering me. I think that speech on organizing and reducing clutter will haunt me for a long time. I'm so happy to see you here and to know that you're connected with John (he's wonderful!).
Create yourself a great day!

Hi Derek!
So glad we got to go through the advanced training at the same time! Absolutely LOVED meeting your family, the insights you shared in and out of class and can't wait to follow your career...because you WILL CHANGE the WORLD for Christ!
Our friend has about 11 days before he receives his book! I told him I have ordered one for YOU! (Yes he is counting down the days on FACEBOOK!)
Great poll! Looked at that and thought that's something my Adam would do... remembered...OH YAH, he is young enough to be my kid! ACH! How wonderful that is! I'm very proud of the generation that we have brought here...when they have goals like yours! Let's do stay in touch!
Love to the family too!
Luann
