Robert...it blessed my sox off to be able to hang out with you this weekend! Start to do some brain storming (remember: the sky IS the limit) about how you want to reach the members of this church in Michigan. Mark just gave 4 breakout sessions at a church workshop on Saturday. Maybe I can get him to share a bit on here.

Mary...you go girl! The way you described your idea of Peace by Piece is brilliant! I'd love to piggy back off your idea and use some of the same thought process as well, with your permission. I'm inspired!

Shirley...sounds like you rocked at your women's retreat (as I would have expected) Wow. How exciting to think of the impact you made. Again, your theme Recipe for Relationships was brilliant. (I'm so blessed to be able to correspond with fellow consultants like you and Mary) I'm putting ideas together for a women's event next spring. They haven't given me a lot of time, but possibly I can gleen some insights from your event.
Thanks for sharing y'all!

Mary,

I just got home yesterday from speaking at a women's retreat in Kansas City. It was awesome! It was for a friend of mine's church. There were only about 22 women there but we had a great time and they LOVED the information. The theme was Recipe for Relationships. We used the Blue Score Sheets (they were on a tight budget) for their assessments. On Friday night I split the group up like Dr R does. I wanted to keep it light and fun for the first night. Also only had 1 hr. They had a blast and it was really fun watching them interact as they heard the descriptions of their type. The emphasis for that session was the different "ingredients" in the Recipe for Relationships.

Then I spoke twice on Saturday - once in the AM and once in the afternoon for 1 hr each. The morning session we focused on "Stirring it Up" - mixing the "ingredients" and I went thru stuff that I had pulled from the Funbook. In the afternoon - Presentation is Everything - we talked about how important it is to not only present food well but also how to "present" to each other in a way that is pleasing and acceptable. I took info from a couple of different places (flip charts, PQ guides and Who Do You Think You Are) and gave them notes on how to present to the different personalities. We also spent time on NEEDS. That seemed to really hit home.

Anyway, we had a great time and I've already had feedback from one lady who went straight home and profiled her husband and just purchased the BOTS for her 6 children.

The sky really is the limit on how and where this info can be used!

Glad to hear that you and Justin are still working on your idea. Can't wait to hear about it when you present it!

Hi Robert,

Great to hear some dialogue on the groups! Looking forward to more of this and would love to have some on-going discussions. I have not done a workshop for a church yet but am anxious to hear from others who have.

Where abouts in Michigan? I am near Ann Arbor. Have you done a workshop in other places yet? My son Justin and I are working on one called... "Peace by Piece....Understanding the People Puzzle". In these difficult economic times there increased stress levels and very short fuses. Peace is scarce to to a lot of people. We are all searching for 'Peace' in one way or another. Helping others to an awareness and understanding eachother, will reduce stress and bring people some peace and understanding.

I would like to know what consultants are charging for a workshop. Lets get chatting!

I am still a searcher of faith; I want to be in a place of "When you know that you know." In the meantime I associate with people that can help me. I am about to put together a half a day program for a church in Michigan. The pastor and I have spoken many times and he would love to have me come in. Any suggestions and encouragements are highly appreciated. Thank you.

All of life is about relationships. We were created for that - first with God, and then with each other. What greater gift can we give the body of Christ than to help them understand themselves and others better so that we can carry out the command of the Lord when He said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself"?

Afternoon, a thought for you to consider.

When you present solutions within the ministry market are you focused on improving the effectiveness and impact of those in ministry? Or are you also encouraging individuals to be better equipped to minister where they fulfill the other roles they have been given?

I fear that many people may be missing out on the privilege to minister to the marketplace through their organizations simply because we, as consultants haven't given them some of the very tools that they need to be heard.

When I pray, I talk to God and when I have an intuition is that God speaks to me. So now, I will listen to my intuition and will accomplish this mission that he gave me, teach and share this information to our Progeny.

I would like to share a statement that Jim Carty (www.altimark.com) shared with me - "In the abscence of policy, you default to politics." I would recommend you reflect on this statement and share with the community your insights on this statement.
